The Tumbarumba Garden Club recently held a very successful Spring Flower Festival with many gardens opened over the weekend.
Visitors to these gardens enjoyed the beautiful displays of plants and flowers that their owners have so lovingly cared for.
Proceeds from the ticket sales were allocated by the garden owners to their chosen charities and these funds were distributed by the Garden Club at a ceremony on Saturday at Tumbarumba Golf Club.
Can Assist has benefited from the generous donations by June Gray and Robyn Lonergan. These funds will be allocated to those locals in need as they undergo treatment for cancer. These funds totalled $875.
Branch President, Bob Ayliffe said: “All members of Tumba Can Assist are grateful for the fundraising done on our behalf by Robyn and Artie and June, and thank them for the huge effort they put into having their gardens ready and open for viewing.”
Treasurer Martin Brown commented that with nine clients on the books at the moment, it was always pleasing to receive funds that are then made available as needed by locals with medical, pharmaceutical, transport or other payments they are up for as they battle this terrible condition.
