Local students make Riverina Cross Country

Last Friday, 32 competitors from Tumbarumba High School competed in Zone Cross Country held at Tumbarumba Golf Club.

Students competed against the following eight schools in the sporting zone: Batlow; Technology; Murrumburrah; Temora; Tumut; Young; Gundagai; Junee; and Cootamundra.

All students performed exceptional against high competition, especially Molly Bourke who placed first in 16 Years Female division receiving Age Champion.

Eleven students from Tumbarumba High finished in the top six for their respective age groups, resulting in them being eligible for Riverina Cross Country, to be held in Gundagai on June 24.

The following students will be competing in their respective age groups at Riverina Cross Country: 12 years male – Noah Meek (second) and Arthur Smith (fifth); 13 years female – Hannah Wooden (third); 14 years male – Wyatte Metcalf-Salter (second); 14 years female – Stephanie Bergin (fifth) and Caitlin Proctor (sixth); 15 year female – Harriet Shaw (second) and Tess Rixon (sixth); 16 year female – Molly Bourke (first); 17 years female – Ebony Shore (second); and 17 male – Darcy Rixon (second).

Tumbarumba High School would like to extend their appreciation to the Tumbarumba Golf Club, supporting schools, Mr Smith, Mr Richards and Miss Bramich, theĀ SRC volunteers for their catering efforts and student volunteers who assisted in the organisation of the day.
